FAQ / Contact

Minneapolis Linkup is a unique social group whose fundamental basis is courtesy, consideration and accountability.

We take RSVPs to events very seriously, because we want everyone in the group to have confidence in each other, and to be able to plan events based on this confidence.

After all, don't you want people to show up if they say they'll show up, and don't you prefer people you can truly count on?

Want to host an event? Please read the guidelines for hosting an event as well as the Linkup Good Hosting Guide.

Minneapolis Linkup Events

Currently no events are scheduled on Minneapolis Linkup, but this can change very quickly.

To see just how active Minneapolis Linkup can become, please take a look at Bay Area Linkup, covering the San Francisco Bay Area, New York Linkup, Boston Linkup or LA Linkup.

Your experience on Minneapolis Linkup depends on your participation, but most of all on your own initiative. It's up to you to create events of interest to others. If you create events of interest to others, then others will create events too. That's how it all works.

If everybody just sits around waiting for somebody else to create events, nothing will happen. So again, it's up to you.

The best thing to do when a site like this is first getting started is to create simple events of broad appeal that are obviously convenient for people. Basic events like lunch, dinner, a movie or a happy hour in an area that is easy for most people to get to are best.

It's a mistake to start off by creating events that are narrow in focus, like "female non-smoking vegans 20-25 who own dogs" or "unemployed marketing MBAs in my obscure neighborhood."

That might work if the site later grows to several thousand members, but until a site has at least 500 members, it's best to make sure your event will have broad appeal. If you create such events, and create those events persistently, Minneapolis Linkup will grow and become very active quickly.

The software for events on Linkup is particularly sophisticated, designed to be as effective as possible in managing your events. Please take a look at our Hosting Guide to get an idea of the full set of features of our software.

Best of luck with your events on Minneapolis Linkup!

I'm from the SF Linkup but now based here with my work. Anyone want to get out for a drink downtown and chat? I need to get out and meet people here. —Frank Monday, 09/03/2007 - 10:15
